This year’s Ha Noi Tourism Festival will be held at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel – a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.

Ha Noi is implementing various initiatives to showcase its cultural richness and tourism potential to domestic and international visitors.

Under the theme “Experience Ha Noi 2025”, the festival features a wide range of activities designed to honour the city’s cultural and historical heritage, promote tourist destinations, distinctive products and services of the capital, and attract domestic and international travellers.

The event reaffirms the image of Ha Noi tourism as a “Safe –High-Quality–Attractive–Friendly” destination.

The festival also aims to enhance tourism links between Ha Noi and other localities within Viet Nam and abroad, forming inter-regional and cross-border tourism products, and strengthening Ha Noi’s connection with other destinations across the country and the region.

Ha Noi Tourism Festival 2025 will include several noteworthy experiential zones, such as: the “Ha Noi Destination” experience space; the business networking area; the traditional crafts demonstration and experience area; the Ha Noi cuisine space; the experience area linking Ha Noi with provinces, cities and international friends; and the digital tourism technology experience zone.

Throughout the festival, the concept of “experience” is at the forefront, offering visitors authentic and immersive insights into the culture and tourism of the capital.

Visitors will be able to participate and enjoy a range of activities, including art performances, cultural parades, and intercultural exchanges.

On this occasion, prominent tourist sites across Ha Noi will also offer interesting activities, with thematic exhibition and experience zones such as: the Old Quarter and craft street culture experience area; introduction on traditional handicraft making; and historical and heritage discovery experiences at sites like the Thang Long Imperial Citadel and the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam.

The Ha Noi People’s Committee has assigned the municipal Department of Tourism to take the lead in coordinating with relevant departments, agencies, district-level People’s Committees, and other concerned units to organise and implement the event following regulations.

The festival will take place from May 30 to June 1.

Viet Nam recognises four new intangible heritage traditions

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung has recently signed decisions announcing additions to the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage. Among the newly recognised elements are the art of Chhay-dam drum performance, the Cheo tau festival of Tong Goi, the forest worship ritual of the Pa Di people, and the bamboo weaving craft of the Tay ethnic group.
