Bac Giang conducts vaccination against Covid-19 throughout Tet
Staying on duty for vaccination task
On the morning of February 6, at the health station of Tri Yen commune (Yen Dung district), many people came to get vaccine shots. Here, doctors and nurses carefully prepared for the first vaccination session of spring 2022.

Ta Xuan Luu, 84, from Duc Thinh village, who just finished the 3rd injection, said: "The epidemic is dangerous, so the elderly have to strictly implement the 5K message to protect themselves. On Lunar New Year days, my son was at home, so he took me to get my injection on time."
Like Luu, many elderly people have been taken by their children and grandchildren to the communal health station for vaccination. During the Tet holiday, despite being busy with family matters, the medical staff were all ready for the important task.
Tri Yen commune has eight villages with nearly 5,600 people. On February 6, the communal health station administered Covid-19 vaccines for 81 people. Up to now, 99 percent of the population aged 18 and over in the commune have received three jabs.
At the health station of Bich Dong township (Viet Yen district), nurse Nguyen Thi Bich and her colleagues were present to vaccinate locals. On the first day of the campaign, in addition to the medical force, there were members of the township's Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, civil servants, police and militia. Thanks to that, Bich Dong township injected 408 people, surpassing the plan by 200 percent.
Speeding up vaccination progress, increasing the rate of people getting booster dose
In Bac Giang, the vaccination campaign has taken place throughout the province, in all communes, wards and townships, targeting children and designated adults. Tu Quoc Hieu, Director of the provincial Department of Health, said that Bac Giang province is currently among provinces and cities nationwide with the highest rate of booster dose coverage.
After eight days of campaign implementation, the province has administered more than 13,800 doses of vaccine, while increasing the rate of people getting booster doses to nearly 77 percent. The last 232 residents, mainly the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions, got the first shots. |
The province strives to have at least 90 percent of the population aged from 18 years old receiving three doses of vaccine and continue to give additional injections for eligible people. Localities have flexibly organized injection forms such as delivering injections at district health centers; health stations of communes, wards and townships; or in industrial zones and clusters, schools, cultural houses; or even at people's homes.
On February 4-5 (the 4th and 5th days of the Lunar New Year), Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Mai Son and leaders of the Department of Health inspected the vaccination work and encouraged medical staff and people coming for injection at the health stations of Bich Dong township (Viet Yen) and Xuong Giang ward (Bac Giang city).
Son said that over the past time, Bac Giang has seen many people infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. However, most cases have been treated quickly and the number of deaths is very small. This shows that the vaccination has been effective. He asked the health sector and localities to arrange human resources, medical facilities and equipment; create the most favorable conditions for residents; and further accelerate the vaccination progress.

The vaccination work ensured right procedures and safety, and the health sector has not detected any case of serious complications after injection.
Amid the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic in the province and neighboring provinces and cities, the Department of Health proposed that the People's Committees of districts and cities speed up the administration of booster and additional doses for people from 18 years old or older and vaccinate those who have not received the first and second shots, thereby helping people feel secure to return to work, study, and engage in production and business after the Lunar New Year holiday.
