Bac Giang develops production chains to improve product values

(BGO) - Recently, many cooperatives and enterprises in Bac Giang province have remedied shortcomings and shared responsibilities in production and trade brand establishment based on the production and consumption linkage thereby improving value of the products.

Convenient consumption

Xuan Truong Chu Rice Noodle Cooperative at Thu Duong hamlet, Nam Duong commune, Luc Ngan district was established in 2009 specializing in rice noodle production. Currently, it is one of the cooperatives with big linkage chain, prestigious products, large consumption market and high competitiveness.

In 2018, the cooperative was entitled to the scheme on supporting establishment and development of the linkage chain of product consumption chaired by the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.

Chu noodle is ensured good quality while its package designs have been improved. The cooperative monthly supplies about 30 to 40 tonnes to BigC supermarket chain, 40 tonnes to VinGroup and tens of stores in Hanoi sold at the prices 25 percent higher than the market.

Similarly, the production chain of Yen The Green Agriculture Cooperative in Cau Go town, Yen The district established in May 2017 has gained high efficiency. The managing board of the cooperative collaborated with Thuy Phuong poultry breeding company in Hanoi to establish a circle of buying breeds, food and consumption to keep stable production.

In early 2019, the cooperative involved in establishing and developing the linkage chain to help hill-grazed chicken become a key product of the province. Currently, their flock of chicken has nearly 20,000. They supply more than 15 tonnes of slaughtered chicken, 500 kilos of chicken pie and some 80 tonnes of alive chicken daily.

Products of the cooperative are strictly tested fulfilling all requirements on feeding time and quality which are sealed with stamp for origin traceability before entering the market.

The provincial competent agency has accepted the model of Yen The hill-grazed chicken meeting the provincial criteria of farming commodity.

Supporting the key products

According to Nguyen Van Phuong, Vice Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, production under value chain is the most proper farming method in the context of economic integration. To that end, the commodity has been improved in quality and designs which is convenient for testing and supervising meting high demanding markets.

Members of Yen The Green Agriculture Cooperative raise free range chicken under value chain.

The Department of Industry and Trade has completed the scheme on the linkage chain of farm production and consumption in the province in the period from 2017 to 2018. Accordingly, 11 enterprises and cooperatives involve in this linkage with the main products of Chu rice noodle, mushroom, safe pork and vegetable.

Now, the Department continues fulfilling the scheme on establishing and developing farm commodities meeting the provincial criteria in the period from 2019 to 2021 for 8 key products valued at some 11 billion VND (472,951 USD).

Particularly, the products of Chu rice noodle, Yen The hill-grazed chicken and Ban Ven green tea have been support in packaging, labeling, building factories, equipping modern machinery and certificate of recognition following the value chain.

Luc Ngan orange and pomelo, Van liquor, Lang Giang mushroom and Luc Nam custard apple have been facilitated in production under VietGAP standards, building processing house, packaging, labeling, bar coding, stamping for origin traceability and attending trade fairs.

The districts and city have taken many measures to boost production chains.

The people’s committee of Luc Ngan district has funded billions of VND (some 43,000 USD) to support the cooperatives to improve their production, buy facilities and stamp for origin traceability. In 2018 and 2019, the district allocated fund for the cooperatives’ members to stamp for origin traceability and packaging for lychee, orange, pomelo and Chu rice noodle.

Besides, the people’s committee of Yen Dung, Tan Yen and Lang Giang districts spent their budget to help local people build membranes and net houses and stamp for origin traceability.

The above measures help enterprises and cooperatives to establish trade brands and improve value of the products contributing to socio-economic development of the local.

Turmeric cultivation under value chain and organic fertilizer production from tumeric side product
(BGO) – The Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee has issued the Decision approving to execute the project of “Applying the science and technology in building the model of turmeric cultivation under the value chain and producing organic fertilizer from turmeric side products as well as other substandard farm products in Bac Giang province” chaired by Hanoi based Techbifarm Company Limited. 
Cooperatives should be nucleus to enhance value chains
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong emphasized the crucial role of cooperatives, saying they should act as a nucleus to connect more than six million farmers with large firms to create a closed production cycle, resulting in higher agricultural value chains.
Deeper integration into global value chain
Exports have continued to be a spotlight in the economic picture this year. However, it requires sound strategies from enterprises and State management agencies to make Vietnamese exports closely connected to global value chains and have higher added values towards sustainable export growth.
OCOP programme targets production in value chain
(BGO) - Bac Giang has been selected to organize a national conference to implement the Prime Minister's Decision on "One Commune One Product (OCOP) Programme in the 2018-2020 period" on July 14 in Bac Giang city. 
Value chains idea contest launch to support ethnic minorities
The “Value Chains Idea Contest” (VCIC) was launched in Hanoi on June 22 with the aim of supporting ethnic minority communities in Vietnam.
