Bac Giang endeavours to develop OCOP programme
BAC GIANG - Implementing the "One Commune, One Product" (OCOP) programme, in 2025, Bac Giang province is expected to have 323 products registering for the OCOP product classification and evaluation. For the sustainable and effective development of the OCOP movement, the establishment of OCOP sales points is essential.
In 2020, Thien An One-Member Limited Liability Company received more than 80 million VND (3,136 USD) in provincial support to establish an OCOP sales point at 108 Dao Su Tich street (Bac Giang city).

Thanks to effective business operations, the company has invested an additional 1.3 billion VND to upgrade the sales point.
As a result, the number of customers has steadily increased, and the store's revenue currently exceeds 1 billion VND per month, creating stable employment for three workers.
Similarly, in 2020, Nguyen Thi Chinh’s business household at 454 Le Loi street, Hoang Van Thu ward (Bac Giang city) was also supported by the province to set up an OCOP display area at her home.
According to Chinh, the store now displays over 40 local OCOP products, all of which are processed and packaged.
To serve a wide range of customers, in addition to local products, the store also offers many well-known OCOP products from neighboring provinces and has expanded its sales channels, thus becoming a trusted destination for many customers.
In 2020, the province provided 430 million VND to establish five OCOP sales points Luc Nam and Yen The districts, Viet Yen township, and Bac Giang city.
Additionally, Hiep Hoa district also set up one OCOP sales point in Thang town. These venues are located in densely populated areas and near tourist sites, operating under the self-serve kiosk model.
According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, most of the models have proven effective.
Bac Giang currently has 415 OCOP products, with 20 rated 4 stars, and the remaining 3 stars. Since 2020, the province has established 16 OCOP sales points, generating tens of billions of VND in annual revenue. |
As a result, the province has now established 16 OCOP sales points, including six in Bac Giang city, three in Yen The district, two each in Hiep Hoa district and Viet Yen township, and one each in Son Dong, Luc Nam, and Lang Giang districts.
Along with the provincial support, local governments, businesses, cooperatives, and households participating in the OCOP programme have invested billions of VND in developing business models, generating total annual revenue of tens of billions of VND.
At the end of 2024, the Bac Giang Cooperative Development Support Center (under the Bac Giang Cooperative Alliance) established a model OCOP products and regional specialties sales point on the first floor of the center's headquarters at 367 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street (Bac Giang city).
This initiative contributes to promoting and selling the province’s OCOP products, providing opportunities for consumers to purchase high-quality products with clear origins.
