Bac Giang focuses on vocational training as demand and increases human resource quality

(BGO) – The People’s Committee in Bac Giang province on August 29 held a review meeting to evaluate the task of vocational training at the provincial colleges and technical schools in the period 2016 – 2019 as well as discuss orientation and solution for period 2020 – 2025.  

According to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA), the province now is home to 45 vocational training establishments (VTE), two of which are under the management of Ministry and Center sector.

The provincial VTE have enrolled and trained more than 119,100 people since 2016. The annual target is always exceeded. As of June 2019, the rate of trained labor in the province reached 64.2 percent while over 90 percent of students graduating from college and technical schools were employed.

At the meeting, the representatives analyzed the shortcomings in vocational education such as the forecast of labor supply and demand was not closed to the actual situation; the college and technical schools yet to plan the long term training plan, especially key jobs to meet the demand of labor market…

Concluding the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong expressed that vocational education is a crucial and regular task, thus all levels, sectors and localities should immediately recover the disregard thinking and synchronously implement the solutions to complete the set target.

He urged the DoLISA to enhance the consultation role and governmental management capability to give long term forecast of labor market which is closed to the actual demand, helping make suitable vocational training plan.

The DoLISA should chair and coordinate with relevant sectors to early research and study the experiences of the adjacent provinces so as to consult on building the support mechanism to encourage the enterprises’ engagement in training activities basing on the provincial orientation of investment attraction and industrial development.

In the upcoming time, the provincial People’s Committee will set up the working delegation to review and evaluate the demand of investment and facility improvement from the state schools, VTE, regular educational centers to add the public investment.

This creates more opportunities for the establishments to improve the effectiveness of vocational training to gradually increase the quality of human resource.
