Bac Giang focuses resources on developing regional connectivity transport
At the expanded Nhu Nguyet Bridge construction site, the contractor has mobilized manpower and machinery to speed up the construction progress. Items such as abutment, pier, bridge span and surface have been basically completed. Once operational, the bridge will connect Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces.

Tran Tien Dung, Deputy General Director of Hanoi-based Thang Long Corporation - the contractor, said that currently, the unit mobilizes about 120 skilled workers and experienced technicians, together with special-use vehicles and machines.
According to a representative of the project management board, the board is urging the contractor to speed up the completion of the remaining items, striving to have the bridge parts linked on the occasion of National Reunification holiday (April 30) and put it into operation this July.
In recent years, with the capital allocated by the province and the government, Bac Giang has invested 1.7-2 trillion VND (72.4-85.1 million USD) per year in building transport works. The districts and Bac Giang city have also poured from hundreds of billion dong to thousands of billion dong into upgrading transport infrastructure each year. |
Similarly, the construction of a road and bridge connecting Hiep Hoa district with Pho Yen city of Thai Nguyen province (section from National Highway 37 to Hoa Son Bridge) is being accelerated. This project has a total investment of more than 540 billion VND (22.98 million USD) sourced from the provincial budget. Its total length is more than 10.5km, including 10km of road and 0.5km of bridge. Now the contractor has completed 55% of total workload.
Hoang The Hung, deputy head of the province’s transport and agricultural project management board - the investor, said once the bridge gets linked in June and is put into use in September this year, it will create favorable conditions to attract investment to industrial zones in Hiep Hoa district.
At the construction site of the Ha Bac 2 road and bridge project, connecting the branch route No.2 of Ring Road IV with Yen Phong Industrial Park and National Highway 18 in Bac Ninh province, hundreds of workers are busy working to complete the items for the bridge to get linked in early July. This project has a total investment of more than 358 billion VND (15.2 million USD) sourced from the central and provincial budgets. Ha Bac Bridge 2 will connect Viet Yen and Hiep Hoa districts with Yen Phong district in neighboring Bac Ninh province.

The Resolution of the 19th Bac Giang provincial Party Congress, for the 2020-2025 term clearly states "Building synchronous infrastructure, focusing on transport infrastructure" to emphasize the importance of transport works in promoting local socio-economic development.
Implementing this policy, in recent years, the province has prioritized resources to build transport routes. Of which, many key and essential projects serving inter-regional and inter-provincial connection have been upgraded and expanded to attract businesses to invest in the locality, especially in industrial zones and clusters.
Do Thi Lan, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Transport, said that in the coming time, based on the approved provincial master plan, the department will advise the provincial People's Committee to direct the implementation of projects to connect the transport networks in the province and region, especially in key economic areas; and implement the transport network development plan for the 2021- 2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
