Bac Giang highly focuses on coping with risk of Covid-19 outbreak
The relevant cases have negative testing results
Among the complicated development, on March 7, the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee (PPC) held a meeting to evaluate the situation of epidemic prevention and control under the chair of Le Anh Duong, PPC Vice Chairman, Vice Head of the provincial Steering Committee.

According to the provincial Steering Committee, driver Le Van Hanh (born in 1988) in Hong Ky commune (Yen The district) had meals with Duong Dinh Phong in the afternoon of March 5 in Hanoi. Phong was born in Yen The district and now works as driver of patient Nguyen Hong Nhung.
Phong was infected SASR-CoV-2 according to the announcement from the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology in the afternoon of March 7. Phong is working at Hanoi and yet to return to hometown since Lunar New Year.
Via inspection to grasp the situation of relevant subjects, the Health Department analyzed the health and disease factors to define Le Van Hanh as the most suspected case. On March 7, the People’s Committee in Yen The district coordinated with the Heatlh Department to isolate the family of Le Van Hanh (including 5 persons Hanh’s father, mother, wife, child and Hanh) to monitor their health condition at the provincial General Hospital.
Besides, Nguyen Van Tuan born in 1969 in Bo Ha town now resides at 7th floor in Time City Building (Hanoi) where boyfriend of patient Nguyen Thi Nhung lives. Tuan went to hometown to visit his relatives on March 6.
As of 6pm on March 8, Bac Giang has 105 people put under concentrated isolation in the province including 101 Vietnamese and 4 foreigners. Currently, they are in good health condition. Bac Giang has recorded no Covid-19 infected case, so far. |
Nguyen Thi Xuyen (born in 1969) in Tan Hiep commune works at Hong Ngoc General Hospital (Hanoi) where Nhung came for health examination. Xuyen visited Yen The district in the afternoon of March 3. Tuan and Xuyen have been isolated at home to monitor the health together with all members of their families.
In the evening of March 7, Vice Director in charge of Health Department Tran Van Sinh informed that all specimens taken from Le Van Hanh, his 4 relatives, Tuan and Xuyen are proved negative to SARS-CoV-2 in the first testing at the provincial Disease Control Center (Center).
On March 8, the Center continued testing 6 specimens to diagnose Covid-19 disease, 5 of which were taken from the cases relating to the 17th Covid-19 patient Nguyen Hong Nhung. The sixth sample was taken from Luu Van Quoc in Noi Hoang commune (Yen Dung district) who returned from Japan with close contact to patient in Japan. All samples were negative to SARS-CoV-2.
Arranging facilities to isolate 1,000 people
According to the provincial Steering Committee, Bac Giang has arranged the facilities with capability to isolate 1,000 people while Yen The district is ready the concentrated isolation measure at the office of the People’s Committee in Cau Go town (old).

Recently, the provincial Steering Board has given drastic instruction and quick response in zoning off the cases with direct and close contact to the subjects with high risk.
The provincial Steering Committee requested the educational sector to instruct the local high schools, regular educational center and professional establishment to expedite and remind the officers, teachers, staff and students to fully implement the disease preventive measure.
The educational facilities in the province should update the disease situation via message on the electronic school report, group of zalo so that the students’ parents can timely grasp the situation.
Among the new epidemic situation, PPC Vice Chariman Le Anh Duong said that the disease prevention and control is now facing many difficulties, thus the localities should highly focus on accelerating the Covid-19 prevention and control to new stage to deal with the risk of epidemic outbreak.
The provincial leader urged the relevant sectors to review the number of foreigners and Bac Giang people returning from Europe within 14 days to request them to make medical declaration and screen to isolate.
The districts and city should further arrange the isolation areas, supplement the medical equipment and material, regularly grasp the information to actively respond to the epidemic.
The provincial Health Deparment should keep regular contact to Hanoi Disease Control Center and Ministry of Health to know the information about the Bac Giang cases with disease and health factor relating to the patients so as to zone off, isolate and actively fight against the disease in the province.
Yen The district should collaborate with the Center to continue monitoring the area where the family of Le Van Hanh and people with direct contact to Hanh live to apply timely isolation.
The competent agencies should apply the disinfectant and sterilization methods to the areas of three families with disease factors relating to patient Nhung and Bo Ha High school.
The locals were encouraged to immediately inform to the authority when they know any information about the disease.
