Bac Giang invests nearly 5 billion VND in mushroom production

(BGO) – The Chairman of the Bac Giang People’s Committee has recently approved nearly 5 billion VND in financial assistance for a project on applying science and technology in the production of edible and medicinal mushrooms to boost productivity, quality and develop the local mushroom brand.

The project was set to be implemented by the Agricultural Genetics Institute’s centre for mushroom research and development between now and April 2019.

As part of the project, scientists will develop a high-tech model for the production of mycelium of the lingzhi mushroom and cloud ear fungus in submerged liquid culture, which is expected to turn out 2,000 litres of liquid culture per year.

The project will also aims at making lingzhi mushroom and cloud ear fungus products from 100 tonnes of materials, while establishing and managing the collective trademark “Lang Giang mushroom”.
