Bac Giang Newspaper wins first prize of writing contest on protecting Party’s ideological foundation
BAC GIANG - The winners of the third writing contest on “protecting the Party’s ideological foundation in the new situation” (2023-2024) was honoured at a ceremony in Hanoi on April 24 jointly held by People's Army Newspaper, Vietnam Journalists Association and Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank. Bac Giang Newspaper won first prize for local newspaper category.
The event was attended by Politburo members: General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defence; General Luong Cuong, Chairman of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People's Army (VPA); Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications and Education.

The thirty-eight most outstanding entries were selected for three categories including the awards for central newspapers, local newspapers and magazines. In particular, the organising committee presented 3 first, 7 second, 13 third and 15 consolation prizes.
In addition, 5 press agencies which have recorded many high-quality entries were also honoured at the ceremony.
The series of five articles titled “Keeping cyberspace clean – a creative way of Bac Giang” written by Hai Anh – The Phuong – Thanh Nam and published by Bac Giang Newspaper won first prize for local newspaper category.

Addressing the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Member of the PCC and Vice Chairman of the General Department of Politics under the VPA, stressed that this year’s contest continued to receive special attention and enthusiastic response from journalists throughout the country.
Many works have a new and deeper approach with contents meeting the requirements of the spirit of combat, theory, and education while expressing messages in a more vivid manner, thus contributing to improving the persuasion and making positive impact on readers' trust in the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
On the occasion, the organising committee officially launched the fourth writing contest on “Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation” (2024-2025).
