In his welcoming speech, Acting Chairman Mai Son emphasized the special relationship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos. To foster this special friendship, Bac Giang province and Xaysomboun province signed a cooperation agreement for 2021-2025 period.

Over the past four years, the two sides have implemented nine cooperation contents and programmes. A number of departments, branches, localities and enterprises have also signed separate cooperation agreements.

Bac Giang province also organized training programmes and sent a delegation of experts to share and provide professional support to officials and civil servants of Xaysomboun province.

The leader of Xaysomboun province also proposed Bac Giang province to consider, research and introduce Hom district to be twinned with a district of Bac Giang province, thereby supporting the construction of infrastructure and socio-economic development of Hom district.

The Deputy Secretary of the Xaysomboun Provincial Party Committee suggested Bac Giang province to send more send volunteer teachers to train Vietnamese for local cadres and civil servants for a longer period (3 months per year) while speeding ​​up the implementation of necessary procedures according to regulations to support the construction of Xaysomboun province's infrastructure among others.

Concluding the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of Bac Giang province, the Acting Chairman Mai Son affirmed the importance of the meeting that proposed directions and solutions to effectively implement the contents of the cooperation agreement, promoted the development of comprehensive relations between the Party Committees, governments and people of the two localities and actively contributed to the traditional and good relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

The cooperation agreement between Bac Giang province and Xaysomboun province will end in 2025.

To effectively implement the signed cooperation contents, the Bac Giang provincial leader confirmed that the People's Committee of Bac Giang province will focus on directing departments, branches and localities to closely follow the implementation plan of the agreement, coordinate with relevant agencies of Xaysomboun province to effectively, practicality and suitability implement the contents on schedule to suit the needs and actual conditions of both provinces.

On this occasion, the Acting Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee requested the Deputy Secretary of the Xaysomboun Provincial Party Committee and leaders of the province to regularly pay attention to directing the agencies, units and localities to actively coordinate, create favorable conditions, and together with Bac Giang province to effectively implement cooperation contents.

Previously, the Xaysomboun delegation visited and worked with the Vietnam - Korea College of Technology in Bac Giang.

As schedule, in the next two days, the Xaysomboun delegation will conduct field surveys in some key agricultural, industrial and spiritual - ecological tourism development areas of Bac Giang province.
