Tet of sharing, with anti-pandemic measures in place
Whenever spring comes, Party committees, authorities at all levels and the community donate funds to buy Tet gifts for people living in difficulties.
This year, according to the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, after the 2022 "Tet for the Poor" programme ended, the province has raised and given 46,000 gifts to local poor and disadvantaged families, with a total value of about 23 billion VND (over 1 million USD). All 10 districts and city fulfilled the goal of giving Tet gifts to 100 percent of poor households.
Hoang Duy San, head of the Son Dong district Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission and Chairman of the district Fatherland Front Committee, said: "With the joining hand of the Party committees, authorities, political organizations and the business community, more than 5,300 poor households in the district were given Tet gifts. In addition, 93 households were supported to build and repair great solidarity houses.
The peak time for taking care of the poor has ended, but in the last days of the year, there are still many sponsors who come to give warm gifts to the less fortunate.

Currently, the province has nearly 3,000 Covid-19 patients under treatment. Party committees and authorities at all levels have directed taking care of people living in concentrated quarantine and treatment areas as well as those under home quarantine during Tet.
Typically in Luc Nam district, more than 100 F0s are being treated at home. To help residents feel secure in quarantine and treatment, mass organizations donated many gifts including confectionery, jam, sticky rice and green beans to families and support them with purchasing necessities. In Bac Giang city, the Women's Union of Hoang Van Thu ward packed nearly 300 banh chung (square sticky rice cakes) to send to the frontline forces in the fight against the epidemic.
