Bac Giang preserves and promotes the heritage value of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect
Accordingly, the plan aims to further clarify the outstanding heritage value of the land of Tay Yen Tu (Western Yen Tu) land in Bac Giang, honor the heritage value of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen Buddhist sect as well as relics and landscapes in Tay Yen Tu, thus contributing to affirming Bac Giang as a place where Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen Buddhist sect was founded and prospered. It was also the region connecting the capital city of Thang Long with the sacred Yen Tu mountain range.

At the same time, the province will continue to preserve and uphold the historical and cultural values of the Tay Yen Tu relic and landscape complex, promote investment efficiency, tap potential and advantages of the heritage to boost local socio-economic development; open up opportunities to attract investment in developing tourism, especially spiritual-ecological tourism, creating a driving force for Bac Giang tourism to make breakthroughs in the future.
In order to achieve the set goals, in the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to organize scientific research, seminars, and collection of historical, religious and folk documents, and artifacts to clarify the dharma-spreading route of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect founders.
It will compile books and documents; make reportage - documentary films, compose literary and art works; build exhibition spaces at the Bac Giang Museum, Vinh Nghiem Pagoda and tourist sites in the province to advertise the route.
It will coordinate with agencies and units to make a dossier to seek recognition of relic sites along the route as historical-cultural relic sites, while stepping up the promotion of this heritage on the mass media.
The department will continue to guide localities in zoning and protecting relic sites, material vestiges and original artifacts at relic sites and along the heritage-related route. At the same time, it plans to pilot discovery and experience tourism, and build a plan on setting up linkages with tourist sites and destinations inside and outside the province.
It plans to strengthen the organization of investment promotion programmes to attract investment in developing tourism on “the dharma-spreading route of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect founders”
In the near future, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will coordinate with the provinces of Quang Ninh and Hai Duong to prepare a scientific dossier of the Yen Tu relic and landscape complex in the three provinces of Quang Ninh, Bac Giang and Hai Duong to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a World Heritage.
