Bac Giang ranks second in national junior traditional wrestling tournament

(BGO) – The 20th National Junior Traditional Wrestling Tournament 2018 was held at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (in Son Tay, Hanoi) from August 9 – 12 by Vietnam Administration of Sports (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).

Athlete Duong Van Doanh (podium No.1) win gold medal in the weight class of 52 kg.

The event gathers more than 100 athletes of 8 teams from the nationwide provinces and cities of Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Tuyen Quang, People’s Public Security and Kinh Bac Traditional Wrestling Association.

12 athletes of Bac Giang team performed excellently and bagged 3 golds, 3 silvers and 6 bronzes.

Bac Giang’s athletes perform excellently and secure the overall second position.

The gold winners were Nguyen Van Tuyen (weight category of 35kg), Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son (weight class of 51 kg) and Duong Van Doanh (weight category of 52kg). The above achievement helps Bac Giang team secure the overall second position after the champion Hanoi.

The tournament aims at inspiring the practice and competition movement of the traditional martial art, especially the youngsters and contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional games.
