Bac Giang renovates vocational education, improves quality of human resources

BAC GIANG - Flexible training methods and improvement of the human resources quality to increase job opportunities for learners are now the goal of vocational education. Thanks to that, the quality of trained labor has been gradually improved, meeting the labor market, especially in industrial parks and clusters.

Currently, vocational education institutions provide training according to the needs of businesses. Many companies have linked with establishments to order training, accept interns then recruit them to work.

Nguyen Thi Hong, Headmistress of Bac Giang Mountain College, said: "During the training process, the College always focuses on collaborating in training to improve skills for pupils and students at businesses. During internship period, students are arranged to practice at reputable businesses, such as: Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd., Samsung Display Vietnam Co., Ltd., Goerteck Vina Science and Technology Co., Ltd. Some enterprises have accompanied the College to grant scholarships, organize intensive vocational training courses, teach Korean and Japanese languages and recruit them after graduation."

The vocational education institutions also sign training and labor supply agreements with many large enterprises inside and outside the province.

Bac Giang now has 35 vocational education establishments. On average each year, these facilities enroll and train about 29,000 people. The number of trained workers increase rapidly (reaching more than 74 percent).

Particularly, the rate of workers passing three month training course or more with diplomas and certificates reaches 32 percent, higher than the national average. The quality of trained labor gradually meets the needs of the labor market.

Dang Van Quang (born 1998), graduated from the Faculty of Electrical and Automation in 2022, said: "After studying and practicing under the model of linking with businesses, I gain more knowledge and vocational skills. I now have a stable job at Goerteck Vina Science and Technology Co., Ltd. with a good salary."

According to the plan, the province strives to have 80 percent of workers trained by the end of 2025, including 35 percent of workers with diplomas and certificates.

To achieve the above goal, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs has coordinated with districts and cities to pay more attention to labor demand forecasting; effectively exploit national labor market data and information in associated with investigating the needs of businesses or employers and feedback from graduates to serve management and training.

The vocational education institutions innovate teaching programs, invest in facilities, equipment and teaching human resources that are suitable to new technologies and techniques of businesses.
