Bac Giang strives for key region of national agriculture and leading province in northern area by 2030
Via evaluating the result of agricultural development in 20 years (1997 - 2018), shortcomings, limitations and reasons, the Resolution specifies the viewpoint of modern and sustainable agricultural development in Bac Giang province till 2030, with the vision to 2035 by promoting the local advantages, application of advanced science and technology as well as adapting to market mechanism, climate change and international integration.

The set target is to build modern and sustainable agriculture basing on hi-tech farming development, smart and clean agriculture. Also, it focuses on forming a big concentrated commodity production area, producing farm products with high quality and productivity as well as good competitiveness to meet the increasing demand of customers and export. Bac Giang strives to become a key region of national agriculture and leading province in northern area by 2030.
Particularly, the province focuses on developing staple products, increasing productivity and quality so as to match with national and international standards to satisfy the market demand in the country and export. Regarding the fruit trees, Bac Giang aims to establish hi-quality production areas for lychee and citrus fruits qualified with VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards.
Besides, the rice cultivation area should be maintained about 58,000 hectares for two crops while expanding the quality rice production region to 55 percent of the total area. The province encourages to form the production areas for safe vegetables and vegetables for processing that ensure the standard and quality to consume at the supermarket, industrial parks and processing factories for export markets.
The breeding sector will be strongly developed via big concentrated farms under the industrial and half industrial models to ensure food hygiene safety. Meanwhile, the forestry sector is going to boost up growing the intensive forest, expanding the forest area of big wood intensive planting with international Forest Sustainable Certificate (FSC) so as to achieve 30 percents of the planting forest for big wood trading and 60 percent of the exploited wood from these forest to put on thorough processing for export by 2030.
The province targets to have 170 One Commune One Product (OCOP) with four 5-star products (Luc Ngan lychee, Van village wine, Chu rice noodle and Yen The hill chicken) and about 60 – 70
The Resolution defines groups of the focal solutions such as reviewing and orienting the special concentrated production areas for the provincial staple and signature products; accelerating the research activities, delivery and application of advanced technologies, mechanization in farming; renovating the development and enhancing the efficiency of organization and production linkage…

Also, the Resolution assigned the provincial People’s Committee to complete the execution plan before May 30, 2019 while instructing the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to keep the chair role together with other relevant sectors and localities to specify the location and boundary of the concentrated and specialized production areas for staple and signature farm produce as well as complete the map digitalization before August 30, 2019.
The People’s Committees in the districts and city should popularize the Resolution and prepare the execution plan before June 30, 2019.
