Bac Giang synchronously implement solutions to target 2023 economic growth of 14.5 percent

BAC GIANG - On September 20, the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) in Bac Giang province held a regular conference in September 2023 under the chair of PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong.

The economic growth rate hit 12.04 percent in nine month, of which industry - construction increased by 15.21 percent; services increased by 6.02 percent; agriculture, forestry and fisheries increased by 3.51 percent, product taxes increased by 6.25 percent.

The digital economy accounted for 42.1 percent on GRDP of Bac Giang province in 2022, ranking third in the country after Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen.

The industrial production increased sharply with expanded production capacity together with several new products.

The agricultural sector developed comprehensively and stably while the trade and service activities witnessed good growth.

Total budget revenue as of September 18 reached 9,233 billion VND, making up 73 percent of the plan. The province achieved good results in investment attraction of 2,013.6 million USD by September 15, 1.86 times higher than the same period in 2022.

The whole province had 1,604 newly established enterprises, an increase of 41 percent over the same period, with registered capital of 21,995 billion VND.

However, the industrial production growth was uneven, some industries such as garments, mining, chemicals, and small and medium-sized companies in the electronics sector still faced many difficulties. Compensation and site clearance still had many problems, affecting the progress of projects.

At the conference, PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong and representatives of some departments and branches further analyzed the socio-economic development situation in the first 9 months of 2023 and pointed out limitations.

The provincial leader requested all levels, sectors and localities to take more efforts in overcoming difficulties and limitations, taking advantage of opportunities, strongly promoting growth drivers.

All were urged to mobilize and use resources effectively to drastically, synchronously and effectively implementing tasks and solutions under the direction of the Government, Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Council toward completing the targets of socio-economic development plan in 2023 at the highest efficiency.

In particular, he emphasized a number of key tasks and solutions for implementation such as: Striving to achieve the 2023 economic growth target of 14.5 percent, enhancing to remove difficulties, promote the development of manufacturing industries and create motivation for completion.

The competent agencies were directed to highly focus on collecting land use fee, disbursing the public investment capital and national target programs; implementing the policy of expanding Bac Giang city, establishing Viet Yen town, Chu town and arranging commune-level administrative units.
