Bac Giang’s student wins first prize at “Reading for the future” contest

(BGO) - The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization and the Education Publishing House co-organized the final round of the “Reading for the future” contest in Hanoi on 7 April. 

The 6 most excellent students of primary and junior high schools attended the final from the provinces of Bac Giang, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Quang Nam, Hai Phong city and Hanoi who were required to introduce the books under the drawn topics.

In order to complete the competition within 5-10 minutes, the contestants were permitted to invite 2 friends to support them. Nguyen Anh Linh, a grade-9 student of Thang town junior high school in Hiep Hoa district won the first prize with the introduction about the book “Fun science questions” by the Education Publishing House. With her knowledge through reading books, Linh gave audiences a deep explanation of natural phenomena through the lens of science.

She passed thousands of contestants at the playoff with the entry “rainbow soldiers”. Besides, she won a number of prizes at the district-level contests such as “English talent”, “choosing excellent students in chemistry”, “solving mathematics problems in English” via the internet, the second prize at the chess contest and enthusiastically took part in the art programs by the Youth Union of the district.

This contest took place from 10 September 2018 to 30 March 2019 for 6-15-year-old students aimed to develop reading movement among teenagers.

Great contribution to spreading reading culture in community
(BGO) - Tang Thi Phuong Mai, a student of class 8A, Tan Tien junior high school won the first prize at the “Ambassador of Reading” contest organized by Bac Giang Library in late March after passing nearly 28,000 entries of the contestants in the province.
