Bac Giang’s tourism flourishing
Realising Resolution No. 56 of the district Party Committee on tourism development, the district People's Committee has developed a plan focusing on developing three main tourism products which are the strengths of the district, including cultura-spiritual tourism, ecological-leisure tourism and sport-entertainment tourism.

The district focuses on completing the planning on expanding Neo township (now Nham Bien township), re-planning the Nham Bien mountain range area, and creating favorable conditions to attract investors, thereby forming a spiritual tourism complex around Non Vua Peak.
In particular, the district plans to embellish, expand and promote the value of Vinh Nghiem pagoda from over 2 hectares to about 40 hectares. Now, the planning file has been submitted to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to collect feedback from ministries and branches before perfecting and submitting to the Prime Minister.
In addition, the district has completed the detailed planning for the construction of the Hang Dau ecological and spiritual tourism area (Nham Bien township); the detailed planning of the Nham Bien ecological urban area (Nham Bien township) and the Quang Minh eco-tourism urban area (Tien Phong commune)...
In addition to the planning work, a bright spot in the Yen Dung tourism picture is the attraction of investment in construction, repair, embellishment and development of a number of key tourist sites and destinations. The Truc Lam Phuong Hoang Zen Monastery has completed many items, including the Main Hall completed in 2018 at a cost of more than 100 billion VND (4.3 million USD) mobilised from social sources, thereby attracting a large number of visitors.
The project to build Thien Lai pagoda at the foot of Nham Bien mountain range (Nham Bien township) with a total budget of 85 billion VND (3.66 million USD) has been sped up. With this project, the spiritual tourism complex around Non Vua Peak promises to become an attractive destination for tourists.
Meanwhile, Vinh Nghiem pagoda has been invested continuously over the past four years, including the construction of a wood block storage and display house and the renovation of landscape, green campus and festival yard... The first phase of the Yen Dung district golf course and service project has been put into operation from nearly two years, contributing to creating a new look for sport-entertainment tourism product that the district is focusing on developing.
To create a connection between local tourist sites, the district has actively called for investment in building and upgrading a series of key transport works.
From 2016 to 2019, Yen Dung district welcomed nearly 1 million tourists, including 380,000 last year. The total tourism revenue over the nearly four years has reached over 267 billion VND (11.5 million USD). |
With many attractive tourist destinations, Yen Dung district has been increasingly attractive to tourists. Over the past nearly 4 years, the district has welcomed nearly 1 million visitors, including 380,000 in 2019. The total tourism revenue has reached more than 267 billion VND (11.5 million USD). Its tourism personnel has increased from 80 people in 2016 to 300 currently.
After nearly 4 years of implementing Resolution No. 56 of the district Party Committee, with a high concentration in direction and implementation, especially in planning and investment attraction, Yen Dung has created a good tourism picture with many bright colors.
Besides Vinh Nghiem pagoda, the district now has more tourist works and attractions such as: Truc Lam Phuong Hoang Zen Monastery, Thien Lai pagoda, Kem pagoda, legendary Non Vua Peak, golf course and services complex, and a number of eco-urban areas ... These highlights will be the premise for Yen Dung district to strive to become one of the key tourist destinations of the province in the near future.
