Bulgarian Trade Counselor in Vietnam works with Bac Giang’s representatives

(BGO)- Daniel Dobrev, Trade counselor of the Bulgarian Embassy in Vietnam and the working delegation worked with the provincial Business Association of Bac Giang province on 8 September. The delegation was welcomed by Nguyen Duc Kha, Vice Chairman of the provincial Business Association and leaders of some related departments including Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade and Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, the 2 sides discussed the policies on investment and export of Bac Giang’s key products to European market, policies to tap EVFTA benefits, Vietnam’s policies in public investment sector and trade promotion to Europe and Bulgaria.

In line with quality and diversify of the products, Daniel Dobrev hailed Vietnam as a good market with low labour cost and improved commodity investment protection policies. Thus, Vietnam has advantages in export of goods. Besides, when EVFTA comes into force, it will bring many benefits that Vietnam needs to seize opportunities for export of goods.

Daniel Dobrev stressed, Bulgaria is aiming to cooperate with and support small and medium enterprises (SMEs). They want to seek investment opportunities in Bac Giang in the sectors of food processing, machinery manufacturing and Information and Technology. Hence, they want to inquire key products of the province, which can be exported to Europe. In addition, he requested Bac Giang province to provide list of the export companies and the province’s products for export to seek cooperation.

Leaders of Bac Giang Department of Planning and Investment and Department of Industry and Trade clarified the issues raised by Daniel Dobrev. Besides, they briefed on potentials and advantages of the province especially in farm production, industry and services.

The province has strength in garment and textile and canned vegetables and fruits for export. However, the province’s enterprises face difficulties in export procedures of these products to European market. Thus, they need support from the Bulgarian trade counselor. Besides, they commit to help Bac Giang’s enterprises to cooperate with Bulgaria on win-win basis.

Vice Chairman of the provincial Business Association Nguyen Duc Kha thanked for Daniel Dobrev’s attention to Bac Giang province and hoped the counselor to support enterprises of the 2 sides in trade connection. Responding to the request of Daniel Dobrev, the province would prepare information to provide him in earliest time.

Besides, Vice Chairman of the provincial Business Association requested Daniel Dobrev to provide information on Bulgarian investment policies and investors so that the provincial Business Association could inform the enterprises in the province. The Association would report the provincial leaders for orientation in implementation of EVFTA.

European enterprises more optimistic about doing business in Vietnam
The latest Business Climate Index (BCI) survey released by the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) showed that the index rose slightly from 33.6 percentage points in May to 34.4 percentage points in the second quarter of 2020, reflecting the more optimistic sentiment among European enterprises on the recovery of the Vietnamese market.
