Central delegation gives opinion on establishment of Viet Yen township

BAC GIANG -  An inter-agency working delegation from the Central led by Nguyen Duy Thang, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs had a meeting and survey on urban development of Viet Yen district. The delegation was received by permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Mai Son.

At the meeting, the PPC permanent Vice Chairman Mai Son summarized the Scheme on establishment of Viet Yen township belonging to Bac Giang province and its belonging wards. According to the Scheme, Viet Yen township will be established on the whole existing natural land area of 171.01 square kilometer with a population of 229,162 and 17 administrative units.

The belonging wards will be established from the units of Bich Dong, Nenh, Tang Tien, Hong Thai, Quang Chau, Van Trung, Quang Minh, Ninh Son and Tu Lan. The suburb area covers 93.71 square kilometre with a population of 98,935 including 8 communes of Viet Tien, Trung Son, Tien Son, Nghia Trung, Minh Duc, Thuong Lan, Huong Mai and Van Ha.

The PPC permanent Vice Chairman Mai Son thanked Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Thang and other delegates for their opinions to help Bac Giang province finalize the documentation. The province will fully grasp the opinions raised at the meeting.

Besides, he urged Viet Yen district to collaborate with competent agencies and units to quickly supplement and complete the documentation to submit for appraisal in the soonest time.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Thang highly spoke on the efforts of Bac Giang province and Viet Yen district in building the Scheme and completing the criteria on establishment of Viet Yen township.

He stressed the locality and units under the Ministry of Home Affairs need to pay more attention to the document building procedures to ensure quality and progress. The province was urged to assign Viet Yen district and related departments and agencies to highly concentrate on finalizing documentation in the soonest time to timely submit to the Appraisal Council, Government and National Assembly Standing Committee in coming time.

(BGO)- According to the people’s committee of Viet Yen district, most of the electors in the district supported the scheme on “establishing Viet Yen township in northern province of Bac Giang and its wards”. Particularly, 139,705 electors in the district voted (accounting for 99.63 percent) including 818 invalid votes and 134,916 electors agreed with the scheme, taking 96.21 percent.
