Coach Au Van Nam inspires passion for martial art
With special passion and competition experience at Hanoi Wushu Team, since 2000, Nam has decided to return hometown to build up the movement. Previously, the martial art in Hiep Hoa district was not developed in spite of many local lovers.

To gradually attract the learners, leader of the district Division of Culture and Sports (currently as Center of Culture, Information and Sports) assigned Nam to open martial club at Dai Dong village, Danh Thanh commune, drawing nearly 60 trainees under the ages of 10 – 15.
Together with communication and education about its meaning of physical improvement, bravery practice to overcome the challenges, Nam also introduced to the youngsters the technical exercise for competition.
As the result, later that year, the martial art club of the village represented Hiep Hoa team to join the provincial martial art championship and won two silvers. Besides, at the Bac Giang Martial Art Championship 2019, the club excellently bagged 14 medals (8 golds, 5 silvers and 1 bronze).
Representative of the district Center of Culture, Information and Sports shared: “The great contribution of coach Au Van Nam makes up the name for Hiep Hoa martial art with the second ranking in 10 districts and city which regularly tops the achievement among the districts’ sports teams”.
For years, the coach has provided free training for impoverished students. Many generations of students promote their talent and have further contribution to this game, typically Tran Van Viet (born in 1997) in Gia Long village, Duc Thang commune who won 3 gold medals at 3 consecutive seasons of the provincial martial art championship (2016, 2017, 2018). Now, Viet also works as a coach for a martial club in Hanoi.
In the small family, Au Van Nam inspires the passion for sports to his son Au Van Hien (born in 2004) who is now a member of National Youth Wushu Team.
Acknowledging his contribution to the district sports movement, the Chairman of the district People’s Committee has bestowed several honor and reward to coach Au Van Nam.
