Condition well prepared to welcome Lunar New Year safely and economically

(BGO) – The December regular meeting was held on December 19 under the chair of Duong Van  Thai, Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee (PPC).

According to the PPC’s socio-economic situation report, almost all of the production sectors saw a growth in December comparing to the previous month. This year, the industrial production value hit over 210 trillion VND (9 billion USD), making up nearly 32 percent year on year increase and exceeding 8 percent comparing to the yearly plan.

The foreign investment attraction drew positive results. The pig population sharply decreased due to the disease while the poultry and fishery quantity went up to ensure the food supply source on the Lunar New Year and spring festivals.

The people’s life was stable and gradually improved. The national defence, public security and social order were ensured.

Besides the achieved results, the representatives addressed some shortcomings in the socio economic situation such as difficulties in some industrial productions, legal violation on the forest protection law, complex occurrence of traffic accidents...

To well prepare the conditions to welcome the upcoming Lunar New Year, the provincial leader asked the Department of Industry and Trade to strictly watch out the market situation, ensure the quality source of commodities to meet the customers’ demand as well as enhance the inspection and control to avoid the smuggled and fake products or those with low quality and unclear origin...

Regarding the fiercely decreased pig population due to the African Swine Fever leading to high pork price and rare supply, the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development and Industry and Trade were urged to promptly work with the farmers and breeding enterprises to actively supply the food to the people on Tet festival.

The relevant sectors and localities should make specific plan to launch the social welfare activities to care for the policy beneficiaries and the poor on Tet occasion, well implement the campaign “Tet for the Poor” so that everyone can enjoy the most important traditional festival of the nation.
