The event was attended by representative from the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI), leaders of provincial relevant departments and sectors, People’s Committee in the districts and city; departments of Planning and Investment in the provinces of Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Vinh Phuc.

To date, the province has lured 1,504 investment projects including 1,126 domestic ones with total registered capitals of over 80 trillion VND (over 3.4 billion USD) and 378 foreign direct investment projects totally worth over 4.2 billion USD.

However, it was considered that the result of investment attraction is not adequate to the advantage because there are few big projects applying high and breakthrough technologies. Meanwhile, the quality and effectiveness of investment project are low.

According to the MoPI representative, Bac Giang should clearly specify the difficulties and advantages to build up the plan, road map and measurement to lure the investment and develop the industry while selecting the hi-tech projects that use a small amount of natural resources and minimise the environmental pollution. Additionally, the industrial sector must be developed together with renovation of growth model via improving the man power qualification.

Others suggested the province to pay due attention to developing the industry, changing the economic growth model toward the width and the depth, further mobilising the budget suitably and calling for investment in upgrading the transport system, infrastructures in industrial clusters and parks as well as reforming the administrative procedure and well conducting of job training...

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman Lai Thanh Son received all the comments and suggestions from the representatives. He requested the editorial group to additionally report, adjust the arrangement, revise the data to ensure the correctness while analysing to explain the strong points and limitation in the provincial investment attraction and industrial development.

Also, a comparison with the national general situation should be made to have a basic for best implementation.
