Along with digital government and digital society, digital economic development is one of the three main pillars identified by the province in Resolution No. 111.

To develop the digital economy, the province has focused on implementing the key contents of developing digital technology enterprises, shifting from assembling and processing information technology to making digital technology products, creative industries, electronic commerce (e-commerce) and smart production.

At the same time, the province has actively applied digitalization to promote production, business and management activities of enterprises; develop start-up businesses applying digital technology; support businesses to connect with telecommunications units to carry out commodity transactions...

After more than two years of implementation, the province has developed a plan and exerted efforts to deploy a series of solutions to promote digital economy.

According to Resolution No. 111, Bac Giang strives to have the proportion of digital economy of about 25 percent of the province's GRDP while the digital economy of each industry and field reaches a minimum of 15 percent and there are about 800 digital enterprises by 2025. To date, two indicators of digital enterprises and the proportion of digital economy in GRDP have exceeded the set targets.

The outstanding result is that many businesses and cooperatives have proactively digitized to promote production, business and management activities.

For recent years, the branches of commercial bank have paid due attention in applying digitalization in operational and management activities. Notably, these banks have promoted non-cash payments in transactions following the Government's direction. The bank branches have helped collect tuition fees, electricity bills, water bills, etc., significantly limiting the use of cash.

At the same time, the technology has been actively applied in digital transformation, development of new modern products and services to serve customers at ease and safety.

To date, the whole province has had 140,000 businesses, cooperatives and households selling goods on a number of trading floors such as Postmart.vn of Vietnam Post Corporation and Voso.vn of Viettel Post Corporation.

For recent two years, the e-commerce platforms have transacted more than 200,000 orders, worth nearly 100 billion VND (4.2 million USD).

The digital economy initially contributed to the economic development of the province. According to the assessment of the Ministry of Information and Communications, in 2022 Bac Giang ranked 9th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in digital transformation, of which architects ranked 2nd/63rd provinces and cities (the previous year, the province's digital economy ranked 6th out of 63 provinces and cities). This result confirmed the province's positive changes in directing and supporting the provision of services for businesses and people to develop the digital economy.

To promote the digital economic activities in the coming time, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Gia Phong said that the Department advised the Provincial People's Committee to continue implementing solutions to promote core digital economic development with main manufacturing industries of electronics, telecommunications, information technology services.

In particular, due attention is paid to investing in digital infrastructure, high-tech zones, supporting start-up businesses and training human resources.

At the same time, the province has focused on developing digital economy in each industry and field, e-commerce activities and supporting businesses in information technology application.
