The life of Nguyen Thi Quyen (born in 1944) in Tan Thanh commune, Lang Giang district, wife of martyr Nguyen Xuan Viet who sacrificed his life in Southern battlefield, is a motional story. She became a widow when she was just 20 years old. The little woman faced numerous difficulties because her parents-in-law were sick and her 2 daughters were too young. She tried to overcome challenges to care for her family, manage for her children’s study and participate in social work.
The situation of Nguyen Duc Bach (born in 2008) in Cuong Son commune, Luc Nam district, son of martyr Nguyen Van Hoan, an official of traffic police division, under the provincial Public Security Department makes many people moved to tears.
Hoan sacrificed in 2009 when he was pursuing one person illegally sucking sand on Thuong River. Bach was only 6 month at that time, thus he just knows about his father through his mother and grandparents but he is always proud of his dad.
Wounded soldier Luong Thi Giang (born in 1949) in Tam Hiep commune, Yen The district fought in the battlefield of Quang Tri and got injured in 1974.
In order to deserve sacrifices of her comrades, she has made great efforts to fulfill her family duties and the role as an official of the provincial Women’s Union. After she retired, she continues working as Chairwoman of the communal Former Youth Pioneer Association who actively encourages, guides and supports the members in handling policies and ensuring their rights and benefits.
