Different groups of readers, from kids to adults, and with a variety of reading tastes, will be able to find novels as they explore literature and social science books from Britain, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Wallonie-Bruxelles (Belgium).
In particular, at the opening ceremony, the organising board introduced more than 50 paintings inspired from nine characters of European literature, including Puss in Boots, Don Quixote, Harry Potter and Le Petit Nicolas.
The contest organisers received roughly 1,500 entries and selected the 108 best drawings to exhibit at the French Cultural Centre and Goethe Institute in Hanoi.
From May 2 to 22, as part of the European Literature Days in Vietnam, various exchange programmes and talk shows will be organised.
A similar event will take place in Da Nang from May 20 to 25 and in Ho Chi Minh City from May 12 to 25. The event includes book presentations and reading, workshops, exhibitions and film screenings.
