As planned, a conference on connections between overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese localities will take place in the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh from December 26 to 29.

Themed “Overseas Vietnamese join hands to build homeland toward integration and development”, the conference is expected to draw between 300 and 350 delegates, with 200 expatriates from 22 countries and territories worldwide having registered to participate.

Several topics will be discussed, including measures to attract the expat community’s investment in Vietnam and experiences of overseas businessmen and intellectuals, who returned home to build their careers. Localities will introduce their preferential policies for the community.

On January 26, 2019, the “Xuan Que Huong” (Homeland Spring) 2019 programme will be held in the capital Hanoi city.

The annual event aims to provide a platform for Vietnamese expats to share their aspirations and thoughts and honor those who have contributed to the homeland’s development. The overseas community will get updated on socio-economic affairs at home and connect with their countrymen in Vietnam and abroad.

There are approximately 4.5 million Vietnamese living and working in 103 countries and territories worldwide. They form an indispensable part of the nation and play an important role in intensifying friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the rest of the world.
