Export businesses speed up production, ensure safety against pandemic

Updated: 15:22, 09/08/2021
(BGO)- Thanks to the good implementation of the "dual goals" of both fighting the pandemic and promoting production, in July 2021, the export value of Bac Giang province was estimated at 885 million USD, a surge of 79.8 percent year-on-year.

The figure in the first seven months of the year reached over 7.2 billion USD, up 31.2 percent against the same period last year. With such positive signals, the province is expected to continue to see high results in export turnover between now and the year-end.

Ensuring delivery for partners

During two months affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, many businesses in the province had to stop production, and export activities were severely affected. Since July 1, businesses have resumed operations under the new normal condition.

Along with the support of authorities at all levels and sectors, the production activities of enterprises have become stable, with the export value increasing compared to the previous two months. Many enterprises have focused on expanding the market and scale, with orders increasing, especially foreign-invested ones based in industrial parks and clusters.

For example, SeoJin Co., Ltd (Song Khe - Noi Hoang Industrial Park) specializes in manufacturing electronic and mechanical components. From July 1, the company has welcomed workers back to work and recruited thousands of new employees. As of August 6, its orders had been stable, with more than 1,800 employees working, reaching more than 98 percent compared to the pre-epidemic time.

Similarly, HANA KOVI Co., Ltd., based in Dong Dinh Industrial Cluster in Cao Thuong township (Tan Yen district) specializes in manufacturing fashion items for export to many countries. Since the pandemic was controlled and workers returned to work fully, the company has obtained many new orders from businesses in Viet Yen district. As a result, its total revenue in July rose by 20-30 percent compared to the months before the epidemic, reaching 70 percent of the yearly plan. It is expected that the unit's total revenue will exceed the set plan by the year-end.

In addition to the above units, in July, export turnover of most enterprises in the province has increased compared to the previous two months. Some businesses with high export turnover are Luxshare - ICT Co., Ltd. and Vina Solar Technology Co., Ltd.

Synchronously implementing support policies

According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the export turnover of the province in July 2021 reached 885 million USD, soaring 79.8 percent against the previous month, raising the seven-month figure to more than 7.2 billion USD, or nearly 50 percent of the yearly plan. In 2021, the province strives for 14.8 billion USD in export earnings, up 32.2 percent over the previous year. To accomplish the set goal, the provincial People's Committee has directed relevant departments and agencies to step up the implementation of many measures to support enterprises in order to successfully implement "dual goals".
