The event was attended by Duong Van Thai, Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee; the representatives from leaders of Bac Ninh provincial People’s Committee, local departments, sectors and agencies as well as 10,000 staff and laborers of Foxconn.

Foxconn is one of the leading economic groups of Taiwan and ranks 28 out of 500 global strong enterprises. It was the ninth event held under the theme of unity, creativeness, innovation to gather the great solidarity spirit of the staff and laborers as well as build up a happy atmosphere after a year of dedication to the common goal of the group.

Several exciting collective activities were organized at the festival including art performances, lion dancing, silk dancing, Bangbang and Party girl dancing, Hip-hop, lucky draw among others.

Addressing to congratulate the festival, Vice Chairman Duong Van Thai briefed the people on the result of provincial socio-economic growth in 2018 and highly appreciated the Foxconn’s production and business.

Also, he pressed that Foxconn is a world top business in electronic component manufacturing that has invested in Bac Giang province. In 2018, its revenue reached 2 billion USD in the province, helping contribute 80 billion VND (over 3.4 million USD) to the budget and create the jobs to more than 30,000 labors with an average income of 7.5 million VND (over 323 USD) per person per month.

Apart from focusing on the production, Foxconn has paid regular attention to implementing the policies to the laborers. On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman applauded the group’s contribution to the local general development and acknowledged the great achievement of the staff and laborers made last year.

On the occasion, Vice Chairman Thai affirmed that the province will continue creating more favorable investment environment for Foxconn’s development. Besides, he urged the group to keep coordinating with the provincial levels and sectors toward sustainable growth, improve the working condition and environment to the workers so as to create an exciting emulation, solidarity to enhance the labor efficiency. 

Additionally, Foxconn was encouraged to boost up the execution schedule of social house project in Van Trung commune (Viet Yen district) and ensure the accommodation to the workers.

Meanwhile, he requested the local departments and sectors to further support the enterprise to improve the operational effectiveness. The provincial Labor Confederation should continue reinforcing the trade union in the enterprises to develop the activeness, protect the laborers’ legal rights and avoid the strike. The People’s Committee in Viet Yen district was suggested to provide a more favorable condition to Foxconn’s development, ensuring the public security, transport safety and environmental sanitation.

Nearly 116,700 Vietnamese workers sent abroad in 10 months

Vietnam sent 116,675 workers, including 41,636 females, to foreign countries in the first 10 months of this year, exceeding the yearly plan by 6.07 percent.

(BGO)-The ancient villages in Bac Giang province, which were established hundreds of years ago, have dramatically changed with the new names as “industrial villages” or “workers’ villages”. The village roads are as crowded as any urban streets with busy people and vehicles during day and night especially in rush hours in the morning at dawn.
