Updated: 16:55, 15/02/2024
A pair of dragons facing the HCMC People's Committee building, the highlight of Nguyen Hue Flower Street, will be kept until the end of the first lunar month, or March 9.

Each mascot, about 120 meters long, set a record for the size of mascots displayed on the flower street over the last 21 years.

A crowd is seen in front of a pair of giant dragon mascots at the entrance of Nguyen Hue Flower Street, Feb. 7, 2024.

The dragons' bodies, which are designed to coil and intertwine with each other, are at the entrance to the flower street and stand over 10 meters high, creating a visually stunning overhead canopy.

Aside from the size, the pair of dragons impress visitors as they also move their heads and roar.

After eight days of opening, the flower street was removed on Wednesday night.

However, since its opening, the pair of mascots has attracted many locals and tourists for sightseeing and taking photos, prompting the city authorities to decide to keep them in place for another three weeks.
