Good impression on “Affectionate lychee season” journey
Meaningful experience
Right after finishing the internship period in Da Nang city, Tran Thi Van Anh (born in 2001) from Nham Bien town (Yen Dung district), a third-year student of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Hanoi National University) quickly packed her luggage to start the “Affectionate lychee season” journey (Journey)

It was launched by Bac Giang Students Association in Hanoi and Bac Giang provincial Youth Federation to support Luc Ngan farmers to harvest lychees.
Van Anh was accompanied by 15 students to Phuong Son commune. Acting as Chairwoman of the Associated Organ of Students’ Association in Nguyen Trai and Ha Dong, she was assigned to be the team leader during the voluntary period.
She rode motorbike from Hanoi to Luc Ngan one day prior to the schedule to firmly know about local area, instruct and welcome other members. The team accommodated at the home of Hoang Van Diep who is head of Mao Ga village.

The team leader said this time all activities aimed to support social policy families. To prevent the hottest period of summer, all members woke up around 4am together with local officials to harvest lychees.
All stages from harvesting and bundling the lychees, cutting stalks, transporting to the gathering point were urgently carried out by the students. The blue shirts of volunteers were sweaty around 8am when the harvest was done.
Not only participating in the harvesting stage, the youth also supported the traffic police force to coordinate and route the lanes for vehicles to solve the road congestion,

Every day, at about 10 a.m when the traffic was clear, they went to the market to buy things then returned to the accommodation to prepare for lunch and take a rest. In late afternoon, the team continued coming to households to give a helping hand in lychee harvest.
On the occasion, the volunteers also cooperated with local youth union in Phuong Son commune to beautify the communal cemetery and clean up environment.
Joining hands to build nice lifestyle
The Journey of Bac Giang Students Association in Hanoi attracted many students at provinces and cities nationwide. In addition to nearly 100 Bac Giang born volunteers, many others came from the provinces of Lang Son, Dak Lak, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Lam Dong. Volunteering in lychee hub helped the youth create good lifestyle and contribute to the community.

Knowing about the voluntary programme via a friend, the student of Vietnam Institute of Agriculture Quoc Thanh Hoa (born in 2001) from Dak Lak province was excited to register. He joined the journey in the first period in three days. For him, it was a meaningful and practical activity.
The lychee harvest season will end in few days. There were six groups of volunteer students helping local farmers harvest and consume the fruits. When the journey came to an end, they must say goodbye to the lychee kingdom in deep emotion. The short journey left good memories on the students.
