In his opening speech, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Duong Van Thai briefed the guests on situation of the health sector in Bac Giang province. In recent 5 years, Bac Giang has allocated more than 2 trillion VND (81.5 million USD) from local budget to build facilities and purchase medical equipment.

The provincial general and specialized hospitals have been built modernly and beautifully. All of the 9 medical centers in the districts have been newly built meeting the standards. Bac Giang is among a few localities having medical centers in the industrial parks.

Secretary Duong Van Thai requested the Minister, competent agencies of the Ministry and central hospitals to continue to pay attention and help the province to surmount obstacles and support for the recommendations of the province to develop the health sector.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Dao Hong Lan and other delegates highly evaluated the results gained by the province while discussing to clarify some recommendations by Bac Giang province.

She also agreed with the proposal to develop Bac Giang General Hospital into a regional hospital.

Within the working programme, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong and Director of Bach Mai Hospital Dao Xuan Co inked a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the People’s Committee of Bac Giang province and Bach Mai Hospital in 2023-2030 period.

On the same day, Minister Dao Hong Lan and the delegation worked with the provincial General Hospital, visited and presented gifts to some patients in the hospital.
