51 delegations with nearly 2,200 runners from local high schools, elderly club, soldiers and officers at the armed forces, workers, public servants and labours competed at the event.

Since Bac Giang Newspaper Run was firstly held in 1982, it has become a popular sport event with huge participation from the people at all strata. After two year hiatus and one year of small scale organization due to Covid-19 pandemic, this year event marked a comeback with large scale. Tan Thinh Construction Company Limited was the major sponsor of the tourney with VNPT as the co-sponsor.

After a morning of fierce competition, the 40th Bac Giang Newspaper Run 2023 left good image and impression on local sport lovers. It was successfully wrapped up with 14 sets of medal for outstanding athletes and delegations.

Lang Giang delegation secured first overall ranking at the category for the districts and city. It was their 38th champion title. Luc Nam district came second and Tan Yen district ranked third place.

Runner Dang Thuy Tien from Luc Nam district becomes the first to reach the finish line at young women's race of secondary school group.

Vice Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Trong Bac said basing on the competition result, the Department will review and select best athletes to the provincial track and field team for more training and competing at national sport event.

Tran Van Duc, Deputy Editor-in- Chief of Bac Giang Newspaper, Head of the Organization Board highly evaluated the innovation in this year event. The communication task was widespread on mass media and social network, helping create great movement. New arrangement and design of the running track, starting and finishing line facilitated runners and drew the attention from numerous spectators.

(BGO)- After 3 years postponed and reduced competition contents, the 40th Bac Giang Newspaper Run 2023 will be kicked off on the morning of March 26 at the 3/2 square (Bac Giang city). The tournament was jointly held by Bac Giang Newspaper, the provincial Youth Union, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Education and Training.
