Healthcare project sponsored by European Union benefits 12 localities

The event was attended by Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee.
The 4 year project will be executed in 12 communes of Doan Bai, Chau Minh, Mai Trung (Hiep Hoa district); Duc Giang, Canh Thuy, Tri Yen (Yen Dung district); Dong Phu, Chu Dien, Dan Hoi (Luc Nam district); Long Son, Duong Huu and An Lap (Son Dong district) with a total expense of some 400,000 Euro sponsored by the European Union (EU).
After completion, it targets to benefit 614,200 locals including 346,504 women and children under 14 years old who reside at the above-mentioned communes.
At the meeting, the representatives exchanged their experiences, advantages and challenges of executing the project in the grassroots level; maintaining the gained achievements after its completion as well as the active involvement of local authority and Association for Protection of Children’s Rights of all levels that helps gradually enhance the public service quality, support the locals to access to health care service, especially the maternal and child healthcare.

Addressing the event, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thu Ha highly appreciated the support of EU and CIAI to the project. Implementing the project in Bac Giang province contributed to improving the quality of maternal and child health care, particularly in the remote and special difficult areas.
Besides, the social security policy will be conducted effectively in the province, further facilitating the local residents to access to medical care. The project execution’s positive result in 12 communes will be duplicated in other localities in Bac Giang province.
