A total of 12 outstanding young citizens of Ho Chi Minh City were honoured at a ceremony held on January 2 by the city’s communist youth union in recognition of their significant contributions to local development over the past year.
The honours stood out from 72 nominees who have had excellent performance in studying and working.

Prominent members among them included Dr Dao Nguyen Khoi, a young scientist who was awarded the Associate Professor title; Hoang Trung Hieu, a student who has gained significant findings in Artificial Intelligence; Huynh Nhu, the captain of the of the Vietnamese women's football team; and lieutenant Tran Le Bao who made outstanding contributions to the fight against drug-related crimes.
Addressing the event, Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan spoke highly of the exemplary young citizens’ contributions to the city.
He expressed his hope that the honourees will gain even further success in their studies and work in the coming years.
On behalf of the awardees, captain Huynh Nhu said that the title reflects the care and encouragement of the city’s authorities so that every citizen is motivated to work harder for the overall development of Ho Chi Minh City.
The vote for HCM City’s young outstanding citizens has been held for 13 years and it has honoured a total of 87 exemplary residents.
Provincial PSF honors 48 exemplary models in studying and following Uncle Ho
(BGO) – The Public Security Force (PSF) in the northern
province of Bac Giang on May 8 held a ceremony at the Memorial Site of Uncle
Ho’s 6 Teachings to the PSF in Nha Nam commune, Tan Yen district to report the
achievements and honor 48 exemplary models in implementing the campaign of “Creating
the manner of the public security officer: bravery, humanity and to the people”.
Viet Yen strives for exemplary new rural district
(BGO) – The 22nd Congress’s Resolution of the Party Committee, tenure 2015 - 2020 in Viet Yen district, Bac Giang province set the target to obtain the new-style rural district status by 2020. After half of the execution path, 17 out of 17 communes met the standard. As the result, on November 8, 2018, the Government Prime Minister inked the decision recognizing Viet Yen as a new rural district.
Multiplying civilized weddings from exemplary model
(BGO) – Over the past
time, the organization of weddings in Bac Giang city has revealed many
restrictions, causing discontents in society. To deal with that situation,
local authorities have organized model civilized, thrifty weddings to raise
awareness and disseminate a new way of life among residents.
Acting President meets with exemplary Vietnamese farmers
Acting State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh has urged the Vietnam Farmers’ Union (VNFU) to accelerate the movement “Farmers 4.0” aiming to apply scientific and technological advances to create farm produce of better quality and generate higher economic benefits for farmers.
