Student, owner of “Xin chao Vietnam” (Hello Vietnam) restaurant in Taiwan
In late November 2021, Pham Hong Thuy (born in 1999) was happy to be voted as excellent student at South Eastern Technology University in New Taibei city, Taiwan (China). It was the honorable reward for foreign student in Dong Bong hamlet, Tan Hieo commune (Yen The district).

Thuy used to be the candidate of Group C with highest score (27.75 points) at the national high school graduation exam in 2017 in Bac Giang. He was born in a disadvantage family. The parents are guest workers in Taiwan so Thuy and his younger sister take care of themselves.
Wishing to study in Taiwan to be closer to parents, after graduating from high school, the boy determined to self-study Chinese on Youtube and made profile to apply for scholarship from Taiwanese universities.
In 2018, he was granted with scholarship at South Eastern Technology University. Though Thuy actively prepared for this, he encountered a lot of difficulties on new land. His university is hundreds of km away from the workplace of parents, so he must live independently.
For over four year, the student has continuously affirmed himself by outstanding academic results, frequent honor and scholarship by the university.
Two years ago, the Yen The born student boldly decided to open “Xin chao Vietnam” restaurant to serve Vietnamese students. He hired more people to assist and work in person after class lesson. Among the busy New Taipei city, the restaurant is impressively decorated by many red flags with yellow stars as well as the image of Uncle Ho in a formal position.

Young owner revealed “I open the restaurant to serve traditional foods to new Vietnamese students who are not familiar to local dishes”.
It is about one more year for Thuy to complete the university programme. He strives to arrange time to ensure good studying result and operate the restaurant which helps him earn more income and widespread Vietnamese cuisine to foreigners.
Choosing to study in Russia to research world history
It is the first year Nguyen Thi Trang (born in 2002), ex-student at History Class of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted has ever welcomed Tet in a faraway country. Living and studying at Saint Petersburg city in Russia, the first year student at International Relation in Peoples' Friendship University of Russia is getting used ti new study environment.
She was born in a farmer family with three children at Trung village, Tan An town, Yen Dung district. As the oldest sister, she always gained outstanding academic results and scholarship at Bac Giang High School for the Gifted.

Since grade 10, Trang had planned to well study and apply for scholarship from the sponsorship of Vietnam – Russia Government.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, Trang traveled to Russia in April 2021 after winning full scholarship worth 450 USD per month granted by Vietnam – Russia Government in the middle of 2020. Then she started days and months experiencing new life.
Studying abroad makes her independent to integrate to international friends who come from China, Thailand and Mongolia among others. Now Trang is studying advanced Russian so she can implement scientific thesis about the world history.
Trang shared that when someone has target, determination, encouragement and suitable studying method, all efforts will become achievements. If youngsters want to experience the life in other country, they should boldly study and prepare condition to search for scholarship right at high school period.
