International agricultural fair underway in Thai Binh

An international agricultural fair from the northern region of Vietnam is taking place in the northern province of Thai Binh.
Co-organised by the provincial People’s Committee and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the year-end annual fair aims to bolster trade and flow of goods, especially farm produce, in the Red River Delta. The event opened its doors last week.

This year, the fair brings together 16 provinces and cities in the region and attracts nearly 300 booths of domestic and international businesses, about half of which feature agricultural products. Thai Binh’s staples are introduced at 32 pavilions of the event.
The fair will run until Wednesday.
EU announces quotas for Vietnamese farm produce
The European Commission (EC) on July 15 announced quotas for several Vietnamese agricultural products and rice in line with the European Union-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
Vifoco introduces local farm produce to foreign markets

enterprises in the northern province of Bac Giang have recently got serious
impact by Covid-19 pandemic, Vifoco Import Export Joint Stock Company (Vifoco)
has kept stable operation by purchasing the local farm produce, processing them
and exporting various products regularly as inked contracts.
Bac Giang develops domestic market to limit damage for farm produce

– The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) on April 9, 2020
issued document to alarm the difficulty for export of various farm produce via the
Vietnamese – Chinese border gates. Accordingly, Chinese side strictly controls
the trucks and Chinese agents in charge of clearing the custom procedure
entering the isolated area in Vietnam for transaction.
Bac Giang forms linkage chain to boost up consumption of farm produce

– After more than one year implementing project “Building and developing
commodities with provincial standard in the period 2019 - 2021”, several
localities in Bac Giang province have initially created the trademark and
formed many linkage chains of production and consumption, helping expand the
market and increase the income to the locals.

youths in Bac Giang province though it still faces a lot of difficulties.
