Dream of clean agriculture product
Nguyen Van Thuc (born in 1986), Secretary of the Youth Union in Bao Dai commune (Luc Nam district) now owns models of growing safe melon, cucumber and vegetables.

He had special passion for the trees and plants since early childhood because he was born in a farmer family. After graduating from Thai Nguyen Agriculture and Forestry University, he went to homeland and used the gained knowledge on his family’s field.
In 2015, Thuc made a loan to invest in more than 3,000 square meters of net house and membrane house. He suffered the lost in the first crop of melon grown in coir scaffold due to lack of experience.
Later, he joined many training classes to study the technique, grasp and correctly follow the procedures of seedling, building tank and installing the drip irrigation. To prevent the disease, he uses bio product and trap in line with “4 correct” principle: Correct product, correct dose, correct time and correct method.
As the result, his product is widely preferred by customer. In January 2020, Thuc invested in Phuong Thuc Store of Clean Farm Produce in Doi Ngo town (Luc Nam district) with the hope to introduce safe products to the users.

Besides, Nguyen Van Tien, Secretary of the Youth Union in Xuong Giang ward (Bac Giang ctiy) pays special attention to the tray of sprout. Starting up in 2017, Tien borrowed capital to hire land, invest in building 400 square meter net house; established Xuong Giang Safe Sprout Production Facility then introduced the product to each restaurant and supermarket.
Now, his products are sold to many restaurants and supermarkets in Bac Giang city and other adjacent provinces. Apart from the popular sprouts made from water spinach, white cabbage, radish, sun flower, bean..., Tien also introduces new types of sprouts from pea and barley.
The products are grown without any fertilizer or chemical, thus they are safe to the customers. His facility is currently supplying some 25 – 30 kilograms of sprouts per day to the market with the price of 60 – 250,000 VND (2.58 – 10.76 USD) per kilograms depending on each type.
Apart from the models of Tien and Thuc, the province has many safe farming models such as growing vegetables in net house of Nguyen Van Dinh in Phuc Son commune (Tan Yen district), raising chicken for eggs of Phung The Toan in An Thuong (Yen The district), growing clean dragon fruit of Vi Van Bo in Son Dong district among others.
Open market
Such foods as rice, vegetables, roots, fruits, fish and meat are the essential commodities for each family’s meals. The safe farm produce has gradually found the stand in the market. However, many youths’ models are scattered with small scale.

The customers shared that it is hard to find the source of safe food product with clear origin because the supply is not really abundant and the linkage between production and consumption is not effective.
To open the market for clean agriculture products, especially those made by the youth, the provincial Youth Federation has launched the Youth Creative Startup Contest since 2017 drawing the participation from hundreds of members.
Also, the Youth Federation has coordinated with the Training and Support Center for Technological Market Development (Ministry of Science and Technology) to organize training course to enhance the skill to build the innovative startup ecosystem to the youths on demand.
According to Than Thi Yen, Chief of the Rural, Worker and Urban Youth Board, the provincial Youth Federation disbursed the credit programme to support the startup youth to 69 projects, models, cooperatives and working alliances in 2019, half of which operated in agriculture sector.
The provincial Youth Federation built and effectively managed the social network to connect and expand the linkage of production and consumption of safe farm produce while displaying and showcasing the youths’ products at various meetings and events.
