International Food Festival opens in Ho Chi Minh City

The 14th Ho Chi Minh City International Food Festival opened at Thanh Nien (Youth) Cultural House in the city on November 14, under the theme ‘Vietnam – Kitchen of the World’.

The four-day event features 50 booths highlighting signature dishes of Vietnam and 12 foreign countries from around the world, including India, China, the Republic of Korea, France and Turkey.

Visitors to the festival can also participate in a cooking game show and watch bartending performances.

Notably, professional chiefs from five-star restaurants at home and abroad will show off their cooking skills and talents at a public event on November 16-17. It will be an opportunity for local chefs to share and gain experience with their international colleagues while promoting food services of their restaurants.

According to Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Deputy Director of the city’s Tourism Department, the festival is expected to provide visitors with an exciting foodie experience while promoting Vietnam’s excellent cuisine to international friends.

Over its 13 previous editions, the festival has attracted nearly 2 million visitors, establishing itself as a strategic tourism product of Ho Chi Minh City’s hospitality sector.
