Japan waives quarantine for triple-vaccinated visitors from Vietnam

People arriving in Japan from Vietnam who have received three Covid-19 vaccine shots are now exempted from the three-day quarantine requirement.
They only need to furnish a negative PCR test result and monitor their health for 10 days, according to new regulations effective from April 29, the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Those without proof of triple vaccination have to undergo seven-day home quarantine but can end it if they test negative on the third day.
The Japanese government had required travelers from Vietnam to quarantine for three days at a government-designated facility since July last year regardless of vaccination status.
Vietnam resumed commercial flights to and from Tokyo early this year.
The health ministry said Covid-19 patients may go outside, but they must wear masks and keep a distance from others.
Singaporean authorities have decided to restore two-way quarantine-free travel with Vietnam from March 16, with the latter fully reopening international tourism a day earlier.
International sport delegations and reporters attending the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) will not be quarantined even if Covid-19 cases are found, the organising committee’s healthcare and anti-doping sub-committee said at a press conference on February 28.
People who get at least two shots of Covid-19 vaccines and have close contact with Covid-19 patients will be quarantined for five days instead of seven days as previously, according to the Ministry of Health.
The Covid-19 patients under home treatment will no longer be isolated after undergoing quarantine and treatment for seven days, instead of 10 days like in the past, and their rapid antigen test result is negative.
