His father deceased by cancer ten years ago. His mother works for living for the three children. Unfortunately, his younger brother also suffers from the brittle bone disease so his family becomes more miserable.
6 years ago, a philanthropist presented Manh a smartphone which gradually helped him open up the surrounding world with more friends on social network. He was no longer shy and timid.
In 2018, Manh registered Facebook account “Duc Lien my homeland” to share the information and image of his town. Amid the Covid-19 outbreak, Manh becomes the most enthusiastic propagandist.
More than 1,000 members become the bridges to connect people away from homeland to donate various things from vegetables, foods, medical supplies and cash. Particularly in May 2021, Manh and friends called for donation of over 20 million VND in cash and necessities.
Modestly he shared: “I can give a hand only. The donations are from people away from homeland and friends in every where. I just act as the bridge to connect kind-heart people amid the pandemic”.
Disease prevention from heart
The sharing is made by Nguyen Van Quyet (born in 1987), Chairman of Disabled Youth Club in Yen Dung district when he joined hands together with the locals to fight against Covid-19.

12 years ago, Quyet got a serious traffic accident that claimed the sensation on his left hand and left him numerous scars on left foot with weak health.
After Covid-19 case was detected in Tan An town, the steering board for disease prevention and control set up many disease control stations to inspect, localize and trace the relevant cases. Immediately, Quyet and the local youth members registered to participate in the force.
Right after the centralized quarantine areas are established by the People’s Committee in Yen Dung district, Quyet and 3 other members are assigned to be on duty at the station in Huong residential area. No matter of day and night, they are on guard 24 hours to check the temperature, spray disinfectant and instruct local people to strictly follow isolation regulation.
It is Quyet’s pride and honor to join hands with the community to fight against the pandemic. He said: “Difficulties and challenges make me more mature. I hoped that every one will strictly follow the disease preventive regulation so that our hometown can control over the situation soon”.
