Ministry of Health hands over 5.1 billion VND and necessities to support Bac Giang in Covid fight

(BGO) – The working delegation led by Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Son on May 24 visited Bac Giang province to hand over 5.1 billion VND (221,207 USD), necessities, foods and medical supplies for Covid-19 prevention and control. 

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Health said basically the pandemic has been controlled in the province, though new cases are forecast to be detected at the quarantined sites in the upcoming days. He acknowledged the great efforts made by the province as well as the joint support from many provinces and cities across the nation to contain the pandemic.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thu Hong and provincial leaders receive the donated cash and kinds.

On behalf of the provincial leaders and local people, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thu Hong expressed sincere thanks for the sharing from the Ministry of Health, enterprises and kind-hearted people with the province to prevent and control Covid-19. She expected that the province will receive further donation and joint efforts from organization, agencies, businesses and individual to contain the epidemic.

The provincial leaders received 10,000 SARS-CoV-2 testing trays from Bach Viet Corporation for Covid-19 fight.

At the same day, the Permanent Deputy Secretary and leaders received 10,000 SARS-CoV-2 testing trays totally worth nearly 2.4 billion VND (over 104,000 USD) donated by Bach Viet Corporation for Covid-19 fight.

Representative of pop star Dam Vinh Hung and his fans on May 24 presented 100 stainless steel beds worth 210 million VND and cash of 100 million VND to support Bac Giang province to struggle against the disease. In addition, couple of Minh Tuan and Anh Pham also donated materials and supplies worth 332 million VND to the provincial Center of Disease Control.

3.2 million USD donated to Bac Giang province for Covid-19 fight
(BGO) – On May 19,  Lieutenant General Duong Dinh Thong, Political Commissar of Military Zone 1 handed over 500 million VND (21,600 USD) to Bac Giang province for local task of Covid-19 prevention and control. Secretary of the provincial Party Committee (PPC) Duong Van Thai and leader of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) received the donation.

The military are urgently setting up two temporary hospitals to provide care for Covid-19 patients in the northern provinces of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang, which are the two provinces affected the worst by the current Covid-19 resurgence in Vietnam, on May 19 afternoon.
