The first campaign was launched in 2009. After 10 years, it has become a widespread event drawing nearly 65,000 participants who donated over 50,000 blood units.

This year, the campaign is scheduled from May 2 to September 2 and targets to receive at least 6,000 blood units.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong called for all officers, party members, public servants, staff, soldiers in the armed forces, youth union members, students and people of all strata in the province to actively respond to the campaign as well as persuade others to donate the blood to save the needy.

To realize the set target, the Vice Chairman urged the Steering Board in the districts and city to consult and propose the local authorities to boost up the VBD activities; enhance the communication to raise the public awareness on blood transfusion safety.

The Red Cross Society of all levels should well organize the blood donation festival, honor and reward the outstanding individuals and collectives with great contribution to the campaign.

After the launching ceremony, nearly 200 lecturers, students at Bac Giang Ngo Gia Tu College registered to donate their blood. Via screening examination, the organisation board received 123 safe blood units qualified with Ministry of Health’s standard.
