Humanitarian heart

One of the outstanding youths in voluntary blood donation is Duong Ngo Tri (born in 1997), a student at class D, Department of Planting, Bac Giang University of Agriculture and Forestry who has donated blood 19 times. In 2016, Tri joined Bac Giang Blood Club and become an active member. He not only participates in the regular donation but also gives the precious blood whenever the patient in an emergency case has the demand for transfusion.

Particularly on 2018 summer, Tri was called by the provincial General Hospital and informed about a severe case of a victim from a traffic accident on emergency surgery. Without any hesitation, Tri immediately came to the hospital to donate his blood to save the patient’s life.

Besides, Giap Hong Linh at the Management Board for the provincial civil and industrial construction investment (born in 1983) is another case who has 14 times of blood donation. Linh has actively participated in the movement for 9 years hence helping save several people.

Also, Linh calls for his wife, friends and colleges to join the movement. “In 2014, my wife was hospitalized for emergency treatment. The 4-hour surgery requested 12 blood units. Thanks to the spare blood source, the surgery was successful. Then I deeply understand the meaning of the voluntary blood. Later on, my wife and I together give the blood annually when the health condition is good”, shared Linh.

The youth’s enthusiasm

The members of Bac Giang Blood Club have accompanied with voluntary blood donation for years. Now there are nearly 300 members in the club, mostly the students in the provincial university, college, vocational facilities and organizations.

When completing the studying and working time, they always spend time communicating and calling for humanitarian blood donation. On summer occasion, the club gathers together to practise and exchange the knowledge and skill of blood donation as well as boost up the propaganda and support at the donating points.

According to Nguyen Van Tao, Chairman of the Club, the volunteers in the club are the exemplary students and youth with full enthusiasm and activeness in voluntary blood donation. Besides the communication for blood donation, they have the chance to join various activities such as organizing the event, arranging and caring for blood donors as well as donating the blood.

Some members have donated the blood nearly 20 times. Personally, Chairman Tao has 7 times of donation. It proves for the responsibility, youth and enthusiasm of each young member to the nation.

Than Trung Kien, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union said: “Recently, the communication for humanitarian blood donation has been focused in all levels of youth union with diverse content and method of execution so as to draw many youths. In 2018, the youth union of all levels coordinated with the Steering Board for blood donation in the province, districts and city to organize many events such as Red Spring Festival, Red Sunday, Red Journey... As a result, over 4,500 people registered to give the blood and 5,113 safe blood units were received. In the first 3 months of this year, 1,700 youths donated 2,000 blood units, accounting for 40 percent of the received blood in the province”.

Outstanding family in blood donation

(BGO) – All members of the family of Luong Van Hoa and Nguyen Thi Kim Dung in Dong hamlet, Tan My commune, Bac Giang city have actively participated in the blood donation campaigns for years.

(BGO) – The Steering Board for blood donation in the northern province of Bac Giang and Bac Giang Blood Club on October 21co-organized the blood donation festival themed “Light up the dreams” in 2018.

 

Teacher sets example in blood donation

(BGO) – With 15 voluntary blood donations, Trinh Van Nam (born in 1980), teacher of the Cam Ly High School in Luc Nam district (Bac Giang province), has been honored by the Bac Giang provincial People's Committee at a ceremony commending blood donors in the province in 2018.

(BGO) – “2018 Blood Donation Festival” was launched on March 15 by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Bac Giang provincial Agencies and Organizations, attracting more than 200 members from 55 grassroots associations.
