The couples are at the same age of 54 and working in the construction sector. Though the professional work is so busy, Dung is always enthusiastic with social affairs with 15-year participation in the Executive Board of the hamlet Women’s division.

Since 2010, Dung has been appealed to donate the blood by the communal Red Cross Society. With the skinny body, she was afraid of the first donation. She said: “After the first donation, I got better meals and sleep, hence becoming fatter and healthier”.

After that, she regularly participates in 1 to 2 blood donations every year. When taking the role of the Head of hamlet Red Cross Division, Dung calls for all members of her family and relatives to join the campaign. Her husband and children have taken active engagement in the donation because they fully understand its meaning.

To date, all members in her family have donated blood 28 times, in which Dung donated 10 times, Hoa 2 times, oldest son 3 times, younger and smallest son 5 times for each and daughter in law 2 times. Whenever the Red Cross Society in the city and Tan My commune launch the donation campaign, they always arrange the time and work to give the blood to save the patients.

Luong Van Men, Dung’s second son said: “After seeing my mother’s activeness in the blood donation campaign and listening to her explanation, I know that it is such a meaningful deed. Thus, I voluntarily follow her and call for others to join us”.

Luong Van Hoa is presented with a certificate of the outstanding family in blood donation.

Thanks to the persuasion of Dung’s family, the donation has been widely participated by her relatives, friends and neighbors in the hamlet. Several cases have donated 4 to 6 times.

Dung’s family has recently been honored with a certificate of merit by the Chairman of the Bac Giang municipal People’s Committee as an outstanding family in blood donation. Additionally, the Luong of Luong Van Hoa in Dong hamlet was rewarded for this good deed.
