Lotus paintings at Noi Bai airport win gold at international design contest
The works by Thu Thuy are highly appreciated for their uniqueness with the two large paintings reflecting on the glass and water walls to create a modern visual effect, along with the theme of national praise – the Vietnamese national flower.

The A'Design Award and Competition is the largest annual competition in the world, bringing together thousands of design works submitted from over 100 countries in many design fields, such as architecture, landscape, interior, public art, graphics, household and industrial products, fashion, stage and cinema. In 2017, the project of building Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mirror House in Thong Nhat (Reunion) Park by Thu Thuy also won the silver medal at the competition.

In addition, another public art work submitted by Thu Thuy to this year’s competition also won a bronze medal in the Arts, Crafts and Ready-Made Design category – a ceramic work 2.8m high and 18m long as decoration for a jacuzzi pool in Hanoi’s West Lake Park, depicting the ocean floor with brilliant coral, anemones, starfish and shellfish.
