Accordingly, the cultural and tourism week under the expected theme “Tay Yen Tu Holy Land Festival” or “Spring colors of Tay Yen Tu” is scheduled from 29 January 2020 until 12 February 2020 (from the 5th to 19th day of January in Lunar Calendar, year of the Rat).

The event will be organized at the Xuong Giang Victory Relic Site (Bac Giang city), some destinations in Bac Giang city and other districts.

The key activities include exhibition and announcement about scientific research of the Woodblocks at Vinh Nghiem pagoda, the documents and artifacts of Xuong Giang Victory and Can Tram-Ho Cat Victory. 

Besides, a ceremony will be held to receive the certificate recognizing Xuong Giang Victory Relic as a special national relic and launch 593rd anniversary of Xuong Giang Victory and Cultural and Tourism Week 2020. There will be also an inauguration ceremony of Toa Thuong Dien (upper temple) in Ha (Lower pagoda),Tay Yen Tu spiritual ecotourism complex.

Addressing at the meeting, the provincial Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong stressed, the Cultural and Tourism Week 2020 is schedule to introduce and promote the potentials, land, people and tradition of Bac Giang aiming at establishing the tourism trade mark of the province. Thus, theme of the event must ensure generality. He recommended the theme “Bac Giang- a sacred land of Tay Yen Tu”.

Based on the tentative program by the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism and opinions of the participants, he directed to focus on some highlights in the Cultural and Tourism Week such as launching Xuong Giang festival, receiving the certificate recognizing Xuong Giang Victory Relic as a special national relic and opening ceremony of the Cultural and Tourism Week 2020.

Besides, it is necessary to start construction of the Tay Yen Tu tower system, the pilgrimage to Tay Yen Tu and launch the Spring Festival of Tay Yen Tu with a highlight of opening the Upper Temple of Ha Pagoda in Tay Yen Tu complex.

According to the provincial Vice Chairman, it is important to renew contents and methods of organizing the cultural activities including exhibitions of the woodblocks at Vinh Nghiem pagoda, documents and artifacts of Xuong Giang Victory, Can Tram – Ho Cat Victory and some local festival ensuring diversity to attract a mass of tourists. It is required to well-prepare for the selected events in a large scale with uniqueness and impressiveness.

He requested the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism to collect the opinions and promptly report the provincial Standing Party Committee to properly prepare for a successful cultural and tourism week.

Tay Yen Tu – Past and present

(BGO) - Yen Tu Mountain should be called Yen Tu Range as it stretches three provinces: Quang Ninh, Hai Duong and Bac Giang. The mountain range has two parts: the eastern part in Quang Ninh and Hai Duong provinces, which is often called Dong Yen Tu (Eastern Yen Tu), and the western part, which is fully located in Bac Giang province and now called Tay Yen Tu (Western Yen Tu).
