Medical masks presented to Vietnamese community in Cyprus
The masks are a gift from the Government of Vietnam and have been transferred by the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Honorary Consul Georges Christophides expressed his delight at Vietnam’s successes in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic.

For his part, Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnamese community in Cyprus Nguyen Duc Manh expressed his deep gratitude for the Government’s attention to the Vietnamese community there, and at the same time spoke highly of the regular support from the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy (concurrently accredited to the Republic of Cyprus) for Vietnamese people living and working in Cyprus.
On the occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Nguyen Thi Bich Hue sent a letter to the Honorary Consul and the Vietnamese community in Cyprus.
The Ambassador said that Vietnam’s successes in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic have been highly appreciated by the international community.
She emphasised the value of the support of the Party and State of Vietnam to the overseas Vietnamese community, which is suffering from severe consequences of the epidemic.
The Ambassador also praised the efforts made by the Vietnamese community in Cyprus in overcoming difficulties, complying with the regulations of the host country to protect themselves and the community, as well as in spreading the fine traditional values of patriotism, solidarity and humanity of the Vietnamese people.
