The festival was participated by 52 Quan ho clubs and villages in the township. Each unit has 12-30 members who are local artisans, artists, amateur actors of different age groups.

8 units performed at the opening ceremony. Some performances were elaborately staged with lively supporting dancers and beautiful costumes, leaving an impression on the audience.

The festival takes place until March 27 (or the 18th day of the second lunar month). As schedule, the Organizing Committee will award 10 A prizes, 20 B prizes, 22 C prizes to the programs as well as prizes for good performances.

Viet Yen township has 18 ancient Quan ho villages recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage of humanity, 22 artisans were awarded People's Artisans and Meritorious Artisans by the President. Currently, Viet Yen has 50 clubs and 120 villages practicing Quan Ho.

Viet Yen launches traditional Quan Ho singing exchange

BAC GIANG - As part of a series of activities to mark the 60th Anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit and direction of the 1st Ha Bac Provincial Party Congress (October 17, 1963 - October 17, 2023), the male and female vocalists on both sides of the Cau River (belongs to Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces) have recently organized a traditional Quan Ho (love duet) singing performance at the campus of the special national relic site Bo Da Pagoda in Tien Son commune.

(BGO) - "In 2019, when my mother suffered serious illness, she held my hands tightly and reminded me of trying to preserve and teach Quan ho (love duet) songs to as many people as possible. I only knew to hug my mother and cried," said Quan ho artisan Dam Thi Bui in Noi Ninh village, Ninh Son commune, Viet Yen district, Bac Giang province.
