At 5:45 am, more than 1,000 youth members including ICO’s students and teachers at the branches in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces as well as youth members of Bac Giang city joined hand to organize the event in response to the plastic waste prevention campaign launched in Bac Giang city.

The Bac Giang Municipal Youth Union provided the information about the plastic waste pollution, harm of using nylon bag and single use plastic and called for the youth to take the lead in plastic waste prevention to protect the living environment.

After that, the youth members divided into groups to collect the plastic wastes, clean the environment in several streets of Nguyen Thi Luu, Ngo Gia Tu, Hoang Van Thu, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Than Duc Luan, Giap Le, Dao Su Tich, Xuong Giang and February 3 Square (Bac Giang city).

The wastes were classified, packed into individual bag and transported to the gathering site for disposal.

On the occasion, the agencies also organized communication activities to the students and teachers in response to plastic waste prevention campaign via several games such as exchanging garbage to gift, distinguishing organic and non-organic wastes, fashion designing from recycle materials.

The event helped the youth members acknowledge the harm of plastic waste, enhance the awareness and activities to protect the environment as well as encouraged the young generation to use easily disposal and environmental friendly products.
